Allercet-DC Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of allergy symptoms like runny nose, sneezing, throat irritation, watery eyes, and congestion or stuffiness in the nose. Allercet-DC Tablet is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.The most common side effects are dryness in the mouth, headache, nausea, vomiting, and tiredness. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. It can also cause dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can worsen your sleepiness.Never support self-medication or recommend your medicine to another person. It is beneficial to have plenty of fluids while taking this medication. Before taking it, you should tell your doctor if you have any kidney diseases so that your doctor can prescribe a suitable dose for you. Also tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding.

In Treatment of Sneezing and runny nose due to allergies Allercet-DC Tablet is a combination medicine that provides relief from symptoms such as blocked or runny nose, sneezing and itchy or watery eyes. This will make it easier for you to go about your daily activities. It rarely has any serious side effects and you may only need to take it on days you have symptoms. Moreover, Allercet-DC Tablet may make you feel less sleepy as compared to other antihistamine medicines. If you are taking it to prevent getting symptoms you should use it regularly to get the most benefit.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Allercet-DC Tablet may be taken with or without food.

Do not drink alcohol while you are taking this medicine. Allercet-DC Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness when taken with alcohol. | - Pregnancy : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

The safety of Allercet-DC Tablet during pregnancy has not been established. There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women, and animal data on reproductive toxicity are insufficient. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing. | - Breast feeding : CAUTION

Allercet-DC Tablet should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from the body. | - Driving : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

It is not known whether Allercet-DC Tablet alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react. Please consult your doctor. | - Kidney : UNSAFE

Allercet-DC Tablet is unsafe to use in patients with kidney disease and should be avoided.Not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease. May cause excessive sleepiness in patients with end stage kidney disease. | - Liver : CAUTION

Allercet-DC Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment may be needed.

If you miss a dose of Allercet-DC Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Can the use of Allercet-DC Tablet cause sleepiness or drowsiness?::: Yes, Allercet-DC Tablet may make you feel drowsy or may cause you to fall asleep during your daily activities. Avoid driving, operating machinery, working at heights or participating in potentially dangerous activities until you know how the medicine affects you. Inform your doctor if you experience such an episode while taking this medicine.| Can the use of Allercet-DC Tablet cause dry mouth?::: Yes, the use of Allercet-DC Tablet can cause dry mouth. If you experience dry mouth, drink plenty of water. Take regular sips during the day and keep some water by your bed at night. | Are there any contraindications associated with use of Allercet-DC Tablet?::: The use of Allercet-DC Tablet should be avoided in patients with a known hypersensitivity to any of the active or inactive ingredients in the medicine. Caution is advised in patients with underlying kidney or liver disease.| What should I avoid while taking Allercet-DC Tablet?::: Avoid the use of alcohol. Avoid engaging in hazardous occupations requiring complete mental alertness such as driving or operating machinery while taking Allercet-DC Tablet.| What are the instructions for the storage and disposal of Allercet-DC Tablet?::: Keep this medicine in the packet or the container it came in, tightly closed. Store it according to the instructions mentioned on the pack or label. Dispose of the unused medicine. Make sure it is not consumed by pets, children and other people.
Cetirizine is an antiallergic which blocks the action of a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing temporary relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose.
