Alifex AM 10mg/120mg/200mg Tablet is a combination medicine used in the prevention of asthma. It relieves allergy symptoms such as runny nose, stuffy nose, sneezing, watery eyes and congestion or stuffiness. It also helps in relaxing the muscles of the air passages, thus widening it and making it easier to breathe. Alifex AM 10mg/120mg/200mg Tablet is taken with or without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine.The most common side effects are nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, skin rash, itching, breathing difficulty, and headache. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects. This medicine may cause dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking this medicine as it can worsen your sleepiness.Before taking it, you should tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver diseases so that your doctor can prescribe a suitable dose for you. You should also tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding.

This makes you breathe easy and gives relief from symptoms such as tightness in your chest, shortness of breath, wheezing and coughing. Regular exercise and yoga can help improve the symptoms of asthma in the long term, in addition to improving overall health.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Alifex AM 10mg/120mg/200mg Tablet may be taken with or without food.

Alifex AM 10mg/120mg/200mg Tablet is not recommended during pregnancy as there is positive evidence of fetal risk based on animal studies. However, it may still be prescribed by a doctor in situations where the benefits outweigh the risks. | - Breast feeding : CAUTION

Alifex AM 10mg/120mg/200mg Tablet should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from the body. | - Driving : UNSAFE

Alifex AM 10mg/120mg/200mg Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision, or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur. | - Kidney : CAUTION

Alifex AM 10mg/120mg/200mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment may be needed. | - Liver : UNSAFE

Alifex AM 10mg/120mg/200mg Tablet is unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided.

If you miss a dose of Alifex AM 10mg/120mg/200mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
What should be avoided while taking Alifex AM 10mg/120mg/200mg Tablet?::: Do not take it with any fruit juices (such as apple, orange, or grapefruit) as they might make the drug less effective. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking Alifex AM 10mg/120mg/200mg Tablet. Drinking alcohol will increase the severity of drowsiness or sleepiness caused by Alifex AM 10mg/120mg/200mg Tablet.| Can I stop Alifex AM 10mg/120mg/200mg Tablet when my symptoms are relieved?::: No, Alifex AM 10mg/120mg/200mg Tablet should be continued as advised by the doctor. Alifex AM 10mg/120mg/200mg Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Montelukast, Fexofenadine and Acebrophylline. Montelukast is a leukotriene antagonist. It works by blocking the action of leukotriene, a chemical messenger. This reduces inflammation in the airways and nose, and improves symptoms of allergies. Fexofenadine is an antiallergic which relieves symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Acebrophylline is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out.
