Alicort 250mg Tablet belongs to a group of medicines called antifungals It is used to treat a wide range of fungal infections of the skin and nails, including ringworm. It works by killing the fungi that cause the infection. Alicort 250mg Tablet can be taken with or without food. You should take it regularly as prescribed by your doctor. Taking it at the same time every day will help you to remember to take it. The dose and duration of treatment will depend on what you are being treated for. Do not stop taking it until you have finished the complete course, even when you feel better. If you stop taking this medicine too early, the fungus may continue to grow and the infection may return or worsen.This medicine's most common side effects include rash, headache, nausea, and abnormal liver enzyme. These are usually mild but let your doctor know if they bother you or last more than a few days. Before using it, you should tell your doctor if you are allergic to any antibiotics or have any kidney or liver problems. You should also let your healthcare team know all other medicines you are taking as they may affect, or be affected by this medicine. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers should consult their doctor before using it. Your doctor will monitor your liver function regularly during treatment.

In Fungal infections Alicort 250mg Tablet is an antifungal medicine. It works by killing and stopping the growth of fungus causing the infection. The dose and duration of treatment will depend on what you are being treated for. Make sure you complete the full dose your doctor has prescribed. This will ensure that the infection is completely cured and prevent it from returning.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Alicort 250mg Tablet may be taken with or without food.Avoid Alicort 250mg Tablet with caffeine and chocolate as well as food containing caffeine and chocolate such as tea leaves, cocoa beans.

Alicort 250mg Tablet is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies do not indicate harmful effects. However, there are limited human studies. | - Breast feeding : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Alicort 250mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby. It should be used only if the expected benefit outweighs the potential risk. Please consult your doctor. | - Driving : UNSAFE

Alicort 250mg Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision, or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur. | - Kidney : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

There is limited data available on the use of Alicort 250mg Tablet in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor. | - Liver : UNSAFE

Alicort 250mg Tablet is unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided.

If you miss a dose of Alicort 250mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Can Alicort 250mg Tablet be safe for use in patients with liver cirrhosis?::: Oral intake of Alicort 250mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with chronic or active liver disease. Your doctor may prescribe a liver function test to check whether the liver is functioning effectively or not. This is done because the medicine gets metabolized by liver enzymes and any inefficiency in liver function can lead to increased levels of the medication in the blood, resulting in increased side effects and toxicity. Therefore, it is important to inform your doctor if you have any liver disease or cirrhosis. Also, inform your doctor about the medicines you may be taking as taking Alicort 250mg Tablet with another medicine can lead to liver toxicity and Alicort 250mg Tablet by acting on the liver enzymes can change the levels of other drugs. Your doctor may suggest periodic monitoring (after 4-6 weeks of treatment) of liver function test and make dose adjustments accordingly.| Does Alicort 250mg Tablet cause any skin reactions?::: Yes, sensitive individuals may develop skin reactions while using Alicort 250mg Tablet. There are rare reports of people developing serious skin/hypersensitivity reactions like Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, and other severe skin reactions with Alicort 250mg Tablet. Therefore, do not take this medication without consulting your physician. And, in case you encounter any type of skin reaction or rashes, stop the medication immediately and report to the doctor.| Is Alicort 250mg Tablet effective?::: Alicort 250mg Tablet is effective as an anti fungal medicine if used in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Do not stop taking it even if you see improvement in your condition. If you stop taking this medicine too early, the fungus may continue to grow and the infection may return or worsen.| How long do I need to take Alicort 250mg Tablet?::: The usual duration of treatment for Tinea pedis (fungal infection in the foot), Tinea corporis (ringworms), and Tinea cruris (fungal infection in the groin) is about 2 to 4 weeks. The duration may sometimes be extended to 6 weeks. For fungal infections of nails, the duration of treatment usually varies from 6 to 12 weeks. For fingernail fungal infections it may take 6 weeks whereas toenail fungal infection may take about 12 weeks. However, the exact duration of the therapy is decided by the doctor depending upon the type of infection, the site of infection, and the patient?s response to the therapy.| Can I drink tea or coffee while taking Alicort 250mg Tablet?::: Caffeinated drinks like tea and coffee should be taken with caution while being on treatment with Alicort 250mg Tablet. Alicort 250mg Tablet decreases the rate of metabolism of caffeine by 19% which is an important constituent of coffee, thereby increasing the levels of caffeine in the blood. These increased levels of caffeine may lead to side effects such as jitteriness, headache, increased heartbeat, and restlessness.
Alicort 250mg Tablet is an antifungal medication. It kills and stops the growth of the fungi by destroying its cell membrane, thereby treating your skin infection.
-Tamoxifen (Oral Route): Severe

Do not consume Tamoxifen with Terbinafine. Concurrent use may increase the risk of recurrent breast cancer.

| -Doxorubicin (Plain) (Injection Route): Severe

Your doctor may monitor ECG (electrocardiogram).

| -Doxorubicin (Liposomal) (Injection Route): Severe

Your doctor may monitor ECG (electrocardiogram).

| -Metoprolol Succinate (Oral Route): Moderate

Careful consideration is advised when taking Metoprolol Succinate with Terbinafine. If concurrent use is essential, please consult your doctor. Terbinafine may raise blood levels of Metoprolol Succinate.

| -Carbamazepine (Oral Route): Moderate

Talk to your doctor if you notice any unusual symptoms. Concurrent use may cause a toxic rise in Carbamazepine levels in the blood.
