Alersol P Syrup is used in the treatment of common cold and cough associated with fever in children. It provides relief from pain and fever and helps treat cough and common cold symptoms like runny nose, stuffy nose, and sneezing. Alersol P Syrup may be given to your child with or without food. Give it in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose and duration of the treatment will depend on your child?s condition and how they respond to the medicine. Continue to administer the medicine for as long as the doctor has recommended.The most common side effects are nausea and headache. Most of these are temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact the doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about any of these side effects experienced by the child. This medicine can also cause sleepiness, so do not let your child do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects them.It is beneficial to have plenty of fluids while taking Alersol P Syrup. Before giving the medicine to your child, let your doctor know if they have any kidney or liver diseases so that your doctor can prescribe a suitable dose for the child.

In Common cold Alersol P Syrup effectively relieves symptoms associated with common cold in children, such as fever, blocked nose, runny nose, watery eyes, sneezing, and congestion or stuffiness. It helps loosen thick mucus, making it easier to cough out. It also shrinks the blood vessels and provides rapid relief that lasts for several hours. These actions make breathing easier. Alersol P Syrup usually starts working within a few minutes, and the effects can last up to several hours.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Alersol P Syrup may be taken with or without food.

If you miss a dose of Alersol P Syrup, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
What is Alersol P Syrup used for?::: Alersol P Syrup is a combination medicine containing paracetamol, phenylephrine, chlorpheniramine maleate, sodium citrate, and menthol. It is mainly used to relieve symptoms of the common cold, such as blocked nose, runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, cough, and mild fever.| Can Alersol P Syrup cause serious side effects?::: Although they are rare, serious side effects of Alersol P Syrup may include liver damage, severe skin reactions like Stevens-Johnson syndrome, difficulty in breathing, rapid heartbeat, hallucinations, or convulsions. If any of these occur, medical help should be sought immediately.| Who should not take Alersol P Syrup?::: Alersol P Syrup should not be used in children or adults who are allergic to any of its ingredients, have severe high blood pressure, serious liver or kidney problems, heart disease, or glaucoma. It must also be avoided if the patient is currently taking medicines called monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).| Is Alersol P Syrup safe for children?::: Alersol P Syrup is usually prescribed for children between 2 and 12 years old, but the dose depends on age and body weight. It should not be given to children below 2 years unless advised by a doctor. Always follow the pediatrician?s dosage instructions carefully to prevent overdose.| Why should Alersol P Syrup not be used with other cough and cold medicines?::: Alersol P Syrup already contains multiple active ingredients for cold and flu relief. Taking it along with other cough and cold medicines, especially those containing paracetamol or antihistamines, can increase the risk of overdose and serious side effects.
Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer). It blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that cause pain and fever. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose. Sodium Citrate is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Menthol is an organic compound which produces a sensation of coolness and relieves minor throat irritation.
