Aldopam 250mg Tablet is a medicine used in the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering the blood pressure helps prevent future heart attack and stroke. This medicine is also used to treat high blood pressure during pregnancy. Aldopam 250mg Tablet can be taken alone or in combination with other medicines. It can be taken with or without food. You may take it at any time of day but try to take it at the same time each day. You should take this medicine as advised by the doctor and never stop it abruptly without consulting the doctor. Most people with high blood pressure do not feel ill, but if you stop taking this medicine, your condition could get worse. This may lead to your blood pressure rising up again and increase your risk of heart disease and stroke.It is important to have your blood pressure checked regularly. This medicine is only one part of a treatment program which should also include a healthy diet, regular exercise, smoking cessation, moderation of alcohol intake and weight reduction. You can eat normally while taking this medicine, but try to reduce your salt intake.Common side effects of this medicine include headache, weakness, dizziness, and dryness in the mouth. Consult your doctor if these side effects bother you.Before taking this medicine, it is better to let your doctor know if you are suffering from any kidney or liver disease. Also, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers should consult a doctor before taking it. You must inform the doctor about all the other medicines that you are taking apart from this medicine.

Aldopam 250mg Tablet is safe to use during pregnancy. Most studies have shown low or no risk to the developing baby. | - Breast feeding : CAUTION

Aldopam 250mg Tablet should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from the body. | - Driving : UNSAFE

Aldopam 250mg Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision, or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur. | - Kidney : CAUTION

Aldopam 250mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment may be needed.Regular blood pressure monitoring is recommended for dose adjustment. | - Liver : CAUTION

Aldopam 250mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment may be needed.

-Tranylcypromine (Oral Route): Severe

Do not consume Tranylcypromine with Methyldopa. If concurrent use is essential, please consult your doctor.

| -Baclofen (Oral Route): Moderate

If concurrent use is essential, watch out for symptoms such as dizziness, fainting, blurred vision, nausea, fatigue, confusion, cold or clammy skin, shallow breathing or rapid pulse and consult your doctor if you experience them. They may adjust the doses as per the observations. Concurrent use may cause low blood pressure.

| -Methylphenidate (Oral Route): Moderate

If concurrent use is essential, your doctor may monitor your blood pressure closely. Methylphenidate may reduce efficacy of Methyldopa.

| -Lithium carbonate (Oral Route): Moderate

Watch out for symptoms such as impaired coordination, double vision, weakness, dizziness or confusion and consult your doctor if you experience them. Lithium carbonate may raise blood levels of Methyldopa and its active form.

| -Bortezomib (Injection Route): Moderate

Your doctor may monitor blood pressure and adjust the dose, if required. Concurrent use may cause low blood pressure.
