Albumycetin 0.4% Eye/Ear Drops is an antibiotic, used in the treatment of bacterial eye/ear infections. It relieves the symptoms of the infection by stopping the further growth of the causative microorganisms. Albumycetin 0.4% Eye/Ear Drops is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Hold the dropper close to the eye/ear without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid or ear. Wipe off extra liquid. Avoid skipping any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.It may cause stinging, burning or irritation in and around eyes, irritation of ear, and eye/ear itching immediately following application. However, these side effects are temporary and usually subside on their own. Inform your doctor if they persist for a longer duration. While used for eye infections, it may cause short-term blurring of vision when first used. Use caution before driving or using machines. Do not wear contact lenses while using the medicine.

What kind of infections does Albumycetin 0.4% Eye/Ear Drops treat?::: Albumycetin 0.4% Eye/Ear Drops is an antibiotic and is used to treat eye infections (such as conjunctivitis) and ear infections.| When will I start feeling better?::: For most eye infections, you might notice an improvement within 2 days and for ear infections, it might take a few days. However, it is advisable to use this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop using the medicine without consulting your doctor.| What should I inform my doctor before using Albumycetin 0.4% Eye/Ear Drops for treating my eye infection?::: Before the start of the treatment, inform your doctor if you have any problems with your eyesight or severe eye pain, had a recent eye injury, recently had conjunctivitis, have dry eyes, or have glaucoma (due to increased eye pressure).| What should I inform my doctor before using Albumycetin 0.4% Eye/Ear Drops for treating my ear infection?::: Before the start of the treatment, inform your doctor if you have a perforated (burst) eardrum, ear pain or if you are allergic to any of the ingredients present in Albumycetin 0.4% Eye/Ear Drops.| How to use Albumycetin 0.4% Eye/Ear Drops for eye infection?::: Always wash your hands before (and after) using Albumycetin 0.4% Eye/Ear Drops. This prevents you from passing the infection from one eye to the other. Remove the cap just before using your medicine and replace it as soon as you have finished. Avoid touching the nozzle of the bottle with your fingers. Tilt your head back and gently pull down your lower eyelid with a clean finger. Hold the bottle over the eye and allow a single drop to fall into the space between your lower lid and your eye. Close your eye and gently press your finger over the inside corner of your eye (over the eyelid) for about a minute. This helps prevent the drop from draining out of the eye. Repeat in your other eye if your doctor has told you to do this.| How to use Albumycetin 0.4% Eye/Ear Drops for an ear infection?::: Always wash your hands before (and after) using Albumycetin 0.4% Eye/Ear Drops. Turn your head to one side, so your affected ear is towards the ceiling. Hold the bottle over the ear and squeeze the drops into your ear. If possible lie down for at least 10 minutes afterward.| Can I use Albumycetin 0.4% Eye/Ear Drops if I wear contact lenses?::: If you usually wear contact lenses, do not wear them while you're using Albumycetin 0.4% Eye/Ear Drops. You can re-insert the lens 15 minutes after using Albumycetin 0.4% Eye/Ear Drops. Contact your doctor if there is any eye irritation that persists.| Can Albumycetin 0.4% Eye/Ear Drops cause a stinging and burning sensation in the eyes after application?::: Stinging, burning sensation, itching, and irritation are some of the side effects of this medicine. However, it subsides after some time. In case, it continues for a long period of time or becomes worse, consults your doctor.| What happens if I miss a dose of Albumycetin 0.4% Eye/Ear Drops?::: If you happen to miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up for the missed dose. Discuss this with your healthcare provider. In order to avoid missing a dose, use a calendar, pillbox, alarm clock, or cell phone alert to help you remember to take your medication. You may also ask a family member a friend to remind you or check in with you to be sure you are taking your medication.| What if I use too much of Albumycetin 0.4% Eye/Ear Drops?::: Do not worry if a few more drops of Albumycetin 0.4% Eye/Ear Drops accidentally falls into your eye or ear. However, try to be careful and inform your doctor if you notice any side effects.
Albumycetin 0.4% Eye/Ear Drops is an antibiotic which stops the growth of bacteria. It does so by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. This does not directly kill the bacteria, but prevents them from increasing in numbers, and eventually clears up the infection.
