Therefore this medicine relieves the inflammation due to these infections.\u003cbr>\u003cbr>You should use this medicine for as long as it is prescribed, even if your symptoms disappear, otherwise they may come back. Depending on the type of infection you are treating, this may be several weeks. Even after your infection is completely cured, you may have to apply it occasionally to prevent the symptoms from returning.

Aladerm 5 Ointment is a combination of five medicines : Ketoconazole, Clioquinol (Iodochlorhydroxyquin), Tolnaftate, Neomycin, and Clobetasol. Ketoconazole and tolnaftate is an antifungal medication. It kills and stops the growth of the fungi by destroying its cell membrane, thereby treating your skin infection. Clioquinol belongs to a category of drugs called hydroxyquinoline antifungal agents. It acts by interacting with DNA synthesis thus killing the fungi that are responsible for causing the infection. Neomycin is an antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Clobetasol is a steroid. It works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers that make the skin red, swollen and itchy.
