Akira Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision, or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur. | - Kidney : CAUTION
Akira Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment may be needed. | - Liver : SAFE IF PRESCRIBED
Akira Tablet is safe to use in patients with liver disease. No dose adjustment is recommended.
If you miss a dose of Akira Tablet, skip it and continue with your normal schedule. Do not double the dose.
Can Akira Tablet cause pulmonary embolism?::: Akira Tablet promotes blood clotting and can rarely cause blood clot to travel to the lungs (pulmonary embolism) which can turn fatal sometimes. Pulmonary embolism is not a common side effect in patients taking Akira Tablet but can occur in overdosing, patients with long bedrest or prone individuals. Evidence suggests that the increased risk of clot can be due to some other additional risk factors as well.| Can you take Akira Tablet on an empty stomach?::: Akira Tablet can be taken with or without food with a glass of water. The medicine should be swallowed as a whole and should not be crushed or chewed. | Can I take Akira Tablet for more than 5 days?::: The dose and duration of this medicine is decided by the type of disease for which it is prescribed. For heavy bleeding during monthly menstruation, it is usually taken for up to 5 days. For other conditions it can be prescribed for less than 5 days and even more that 5 days which is decided by the prescribing physician.| Does Akira Tablet affect fertility?::: No, Akira Tablet does not affect fertility. It is taken for heavy menstrual bleeding and evidence suggests no interference of this medicine with ovulation (release of eggs from the ovaries). Therefore, this medicine is not a type of contraceptive medicine and it will not affect your chances of becoming pregnant.| Can Akira Tablet be taken for nose bleeding?::: Yes, Akira Tablet can be used for nose bleeding. It helps to clot the blood and prevent bleeding. If the bleeding is frequently observed then the medicine can be even taken for a week.
Akira Tablet is an anti-fibrinolytic. It works by preventing the breakdown of blood clots to control excessive bleeding during periods, or after surgery.
-Phenindione (Oral Route): Life-threatening
Do not consume Phenindione with Tranexamic Acid. If concurrent use is essential, please consult your doctor. Concurrent use may nullify the effects of both drugs.
| -Tretinoin (Oral Route): Life-threatening
Avoid concurrent use. Please consult with your doctor. Concurrent use may increase the risk of clot formation in blood vessels.
| -Acenocoumarol (Oral Route): Severe
Do not consume Acenocoumarol with Tranexamic Acid. If given together, they will mutually decrease the efficacy of each other.
| -Warfarin (Oral Route): Severe
Do not consume Warfarin with Tranexamic Acid. If concurrent use is essential, please consult your doctor.
| -Alteplase (Injection Route): Moderate
If concurrent use is essential, your doctor may monitor your treatment and adjust the doses as per the observations. Tranexamic Acid may block the action of Alteplase.
