Ajardy 25mg Tablet is used to treat type 2 diabetes, heart failure, and chronic kidney disease (CKD). It helps lower blood sugar levels in people with diabetes when used with diet and exercise. In heart failure and CKD, it helps reduce hospitalizations and slow disease progression. Ajardy 25mg Tablet can be taken with or without food, in the dose and duration prescribed by your doctor. For best results, continue to follow your doctor?s advice on diet and exercise. Stay well-hydrated, especially during hot weather or physical activity, and attend regular check-ups to monitor your blood sugar, kidney function, and overall health.The most common side effects of Ajardy 25mg Tablet are urinary tract infections and female genital yeast infections (vaginal mycosis). Maintain good personal hygiene, drink plenty of fluids, and contact your doctor if these symptoms persist or worsen. Some people, especially those taking insulin or sulfonylureas, may experience low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). If this happens, consume something sugary and inform your doctor if it occurs frequently.Do not use Ajardy 25mg Tablet if you are allergic to empagliflozin or any of its ingredients. This medicine is not recommended for people with type 1 diabetes. Use it with caution if you have kidney or liver problems, are elderly, take diuretics (water pills), or have low blood pressure, as it may cause dehydration or dizziness. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not use Ajardy 25mg Tablet, as it may harm the baby.

Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing. | - Breast feeding : CAUTION

Ajardy 25mg Tablet should be used with caution during breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from the body. | - Driving : SAFE

Ajardy 25mg Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive. | - Kidney : CAUTION

Ajardy 25mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment may be needed. | - Liver : CAUTION

If you miss a dose of Ajardy 25mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
What is the recommended method of taking Ajardy 25mg Tablet?::: Take the recommended dose advised by the doctor. Ajardy 25mg Tablet may be taken with or without food. It should be swallowed whole with water, preferably at the same time each day. For best results, it is important to stay on a diet and exercise program as directed by your doctor.| Can I stop taking Ajardy 25mg Tablet when I feel better?::: No, do not stop taking Ajardy 25mg Tablet without consulting your doctor. Doing so can lead to a sudden increase in your blood glucose levels. Use the medicine strictly according to the dose and duration the doctor advises. Never stop taking any medicine without consulting your doctor.| Can Ajardy 25mg Tablet be used with other diabetes medicines?::: Yes, Ajardy 25mg Tablet can be used alone or with other diabetes medicines. However, a proper diet and exercise should be followed along with medicines.| Can the use of Ajardy 25mg Tablet cause hypoglycemia (very low blood sugar levels)?::: Ajardy 25mg Tablet does not cause very low blood sugar on its own. However, watch out for hypoglycemia if it is taken along with other diabetes medicines such as insulin, sulfonylurea, or meglitinides.| I am taking furosemide for high blood pressure. Can I take Ajardy 25mg Tablet with it?::: Ajardy 25mg Tablet may cause excessive fluid loss, or you may urinate more, resulting in dehydration. Since furosemide also causes fluid loss, taking it with Ajardy 25mg Tablet may cause unusual thirst, lightheadedness, or dizziness upon standing, fainting, or loss of consciousness. Inform your doctor about furosemide before starting Ajardy 25mg Tablet.
Ajardy 25mg Tablet works by selectively blocking a protein in the kidneys called the sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2). This protein is responsible for reabsorbing glucose from the urine back into the bloodstream. Ajardy 25mg Tablet inhibits this protein, causing the excess glucose to be eliminated through the urine, which helps lower blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes. Additionally, this process leads to mild salt and water loss, helping to reduce the workload on the heart and support kidney health, thereby lowering the risk of heart failure and progression of chronic kidney disease.

If concurrent use is essential, watch out for symptoms such as confusion, headache, nausea, dizziness or faintness and consult your doctor if you experience them. Concurrent use may increase the risk of low blood sugar levels. Elderly, malnourished, diabetic individuals and those with kidney and heart dysfunction are at higher risk.
