Agerim 200 Tablet is an antibiotic medicine used to treat infectious diarrhea. It works by killing and stopping the growth of harmful bacteria in the intestines. This way it helps to get rid of the bad bacteria causing the infection, which in turn reduces the diarrhea. Agerim 200 Tablet can be used alone or in combination with other medicines. It may be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time, each day. It should be used in the dose and duration as advised by the doctor. Take it at the same time each day to get the most benefit and you should keep on taking this medicine for as long as you are prescribed. Stopping it early may make the infection to come back and harder to treat.Some people may develop side effects like vomiting, headache, constipation, vomiting, fever, abdominal pain, and nausea. These side effects are usually temporary and go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Consult your doctor if these side effects bother you or will not go away. Your urine may become reddish in color due to this medicine. But, it is normal and harmless.Before starting treatment with this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or suffering from any liver, kidney or heart problems or if you are allergic to any medicine.

Agerim 200 Tablet helps treat infectious diarrhea by targeting and stopping the growth of harmful bacteria in the intestines. This medicine interferes with the bacteria's ability to make important proteins they need to survive and multiply. This helps to get rid of the bad bacteria causing the infection, which in turn reduces the diarrhea and helps you feel better.

- Alcohol : UNSAFE

Do not drink alcohol while you are taking this medicine. Agerim 200 Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness when taken with alcohol. | - Pregnancy : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Agerim 200 Tablet is not recommended during pregnancy as there is positive evidence of fetal risk based on animal studies. However, it may still be prescribed by a doctor in situations where the benefits outweigh the risks. | - Breast feeding : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

For how long should you take Agerim 200 Tablet?::: The duration for which you may need to take Agerim 200 Tablet will depend upon the disease being treated. If it is prescribed for treatment of traveler's diarrhea, it is usually given for 3 days. When given for irritable bowel syndrome, it is usually given for 14 days.| Can Agerim 200 Tablet cure IBS?::: Taking Agerim 200 Tablet can help improve the symptoms and delay the recurrence of the disease. However, it is not sure whether it will cure the disease completely or not. It has been shown that Agerim 200 Tablet can help improve the symptoms such as diarrhea, abdominal pain and discomfort. Consult your doctor for exact details on the treatment of IBS.| How long does Agerim 200 Tablet take to work for IBS?::: Agerim 200 Tablet usually starts acting within 24 to 48 hours. The symptoms like diarrhea improve gradually after you start taking this medication. Usually, taking Agerim 200 Tablet for 2 weeks relieves the symptoms of IBS. Moreover, it has also been seen that this 2-week course of Agerim 200 Tablet provides relief for up to 10 weeks even after stopping the medication.

-Warfarin (Oral Route): Moderate

Your doctor may frequently monitor your blood clotting time and adjust the doses of Warfarin accordingly. Rifaximin may reduce the efficacy of Warfarin.

| -Rucaparib (Oral Route): Moderate

If concurrent use is essential, your doctor may monitor and adjust the doses as per the observations. Rucaparib may raise blood levels of Rifaximin.

| -Amiodarone (Oral Route): Moderate

Watch out for symptoms of Rifaximin side effects such as diarrhea, dizziness, swelling or fatigue and consult your doctor if you experience them. They may adjust the doses as per the observations. Amiodarone may raise blood levels of Rifaximin.
