Adilip 45 Tablet DR is a medicine used to treat high cholesterol. This medicine helps by lowering triglycerides and '__'bad'__' cholesterol (LDL), while at the same time raising the levels of '__'good'__' cholesterol (HDL). Lowering cholesterol levels reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke. Adilip 45 Tablet DR should be taken in the dose and duration as advised by the doctor. You can take it at any time of day with food but try to take it at the same time each day. Most people with high cholesterol do not feel ill, but if you stop taking this medicine, your condition could get worse. This may lead to your cholesterol levels rising up again and increase your risk of heart disease and stroke. It is important to have your cholesterol levels checked regularly.This medicine is only one part of a treatment program which should also include a healthy diet, regular exercise, smoking cessation, moderation of alcohol intake and weight reduction. If you miss a dose of Adilip 45 Tablet DR, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
When should Adilip 45 Tablet DR be taken?::: Usually, Adilip 45 Tablet DR is taken once daily with a meal. The initial dose of the medicine will depend on the type and age of the patient. Consult your doctor before you start taking the medication and follow the instructions as provided.| Does Adilip 45 Tablet DR raise blood pressure?::: There is no or negligible effect on blood pressure in patients with normal blood pressure levels. However, Adilip 45 Tablet DR may lead to a decrease in blood pressure in patients with high blood pressure.| Can Adilip 45 Tablet DR cause kidney problems?::: Adilip 45 Tablet DR should be used with caution in patients with kidney disorders. Serum creatinine levels may increase with long-term usage of Adilip 45 Tablet DR but is completely reversible. The evidence of kidney damage with this medicine is rare still the kidney function blood test should be done regularly if there is a possibility of kidney damage. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine. Inform the doctor if you have had any disease and all the medicines that you are taking for a better diagnosis and treatment. | Can I take grapefruit juice with Adilip 45 Tablet DR?::: Yes, you can take Adilip 45 Tablet DR with grapefruit juice. The possibility of interaction of the medicine with grapefruit is unlikely as they are broken down in our body by different enzymes. However, if in doubt then limit the intake of grapefruit juice while taking Adilip 45 Tablet DR.| What drugs should not be taken with Adilip 45 Tablet DR?::: There are few drugs like Oral Anticoagulants or blood thinners, ciclosporin, cholesterol-lowering medications like statins and contraceptives are contraindicated while you take Adilip 45 Tablet DR. Along with that, there are certain medicines which should not be taken with Adilip 45 Tablet DR and therefore you must give a proper history to your doctor regarding your ongoing medication. This is done to analyze the condition and provide a proper therapy and prescription which will help minimizing the side effects of the medication.
Adilip 45 Tablet DR is a lipid lowering medication. It works by lowering the levels of triglycerides and '__'bad'__' cholesterol (LDL), while raising the levels of '__'good'__' cholesterol (HDL).
-Phenindione (Oral Route): Severe

Your doctor may frequently monitor your blood clotting time. Your doctor may adjust the dose and Phenindione accordingly. Fenofibrate may increase the effect of Phenindione.Concurrent use may be fatal.

| -Warfarin (Oral Route): Severe

Your doctor may frequently monitor your blood clotting time. Your doctor may adjust the dose and Warfarin accordingly. Concurrent use may increase the risk of bleeding.

| -Rosuvastatin (Oral Route): Moderate

Watch out for symptoms such as unexplained muscle pain, tenderness or weakness and consult your doctor if you experience them. They may adjust the dose of Rosuvastatin accordingly. Concurrent use may cause muscle damage.

| -Ursodeoxycholic Acid (Oral Route): Moderate

Do not consume Ursodeoxycholic Acid with Fenofibrate. If concurrent use is essential, your doctor may monitor the effects of Ursodeoxycholic Acid along with your overall treatment and adjust the doses as per the observations. Fenofibrate may reduce the efficacy of Ursodeoxycholic Acid.

| -Gliclazide (Oral Route): Moderate

If concurrent use is essential, watch out for symptoms such as confusion, headache, nausea, dizziness or faintness and consult your doctor if you experience them. They may monitor your diabetic control and adjust the doses as per the observations. Concurrent use may increase the risk of low blood sugar levels.
