If you miss a dose of Actorise 40 Injection, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
How long does it take for Actorise 40 Injection to start working?::: You will be able to notice an increase in the count of red blood cells (hemoglobin levels) in 2-6 weeks of starting Actorise 40 Injection. If you have any other concerns, consult your doctor.| Is Actorise 40 Injection safe to use?::: Actorise 40 Injection is a medicine that needs to be used with utmost care because it can lead to serious side effects and even death of the patient. It is important that you seek treatment from a doctor who is experienced in providing Actorise 40 Injection therapy. Follow all the directions strictly.| Other than PRCA, can there be other reasons for not responding to Actorise 40 Injection?::: You may not respond to Actorise 40 Injection if you have deficiencies of iron, folic acid or vitamin B12. It is important that you take measures to correct these deficiencies. Other reasons behind not responding to the treatment could be bleeding, infections, inflammation and bone marrow fibrosis. Therefore, consult our doctor regarding the same.| Can Actorise 40 Injection be used in children?::: Yes, Actorise 40 Injection is used to treat anemia due to chronic kidney disease in children who are above 1 year of age. The effectiveness of Actorise 40 Injection and side effects seen in children are similar to adults. However, consult your doctor if you are not sure.| Can Actorise 40 Injection affect blood pressure?::: Yes, Actorise 40 Injection can affect blood pressure. During initial therapy with Actorise 40 Injection, blood pressure should be monitored and those who have high blood pressure should take appropriate measures to control blood pressure. Your doctor may stop Actorise 40 Injection if the blood pressure remains uncontrolled.| Who should not take Actorise 40 Injection?::: Individuals who have cancer but have not been prescribed Actorise 40 Injection by the doctor should not take it. Additionally, patients with uncontrolled hypertension (high blood pressure), patients with a history of anemia called pure red cell aplasia (PRCA) that starts after treatment with Actorise 40 Injection or other erythropoietin medicines, and patients with a history of serious allergic reaction to this medicine should not take this medicine.
Actorise 40 Injection is an erythropoiesis-stimulating agent (ESA). It works by stimulating the bone marrow (soft tissue inside the bones which produces red blood cells) to produce more red blood cells.
