Acrogrel Tablet is an antiplatelet medicine or a blood thinner that helps to prevent the formation of harmful blood clots in your blood vessels. This helps to lower the chances of you getting a heart attack or stroke. It is a widely used medicine for heart protection. Acrogrel Tablet is prescribed to people at high risk of heart disease. This includes people with peripheral vascular disease (blood circulation problems due to narrowing of blood vessels), recent heart attack or stroke, irregular heartbeats, and those who have undergone certain heart procedures like stenting. It is also used in combination with some other medicines for the treatment of heart attack and some types of heart-related chest pain (unstable angina).This medicine may be taken with or without food and should be taken at the same time each day. It is important to keep taking this medicine even if you feel well. If you stop taking this medicine, it may increase your chance of having a heart attack or stroke.The most common side effect seen with this medicine is bleeding. This may be in the form of bruising, nose bleeds, blood in urine or stools (black-colored stools), or heavier periods than usual in women. If you cut or injure yourself, it may take longer than usual for the bleeding to stop. Such episodes of bleeding are usually mild and resolve on their own. However, you should consult your doctor straight away if the bleeding persists or worries you.This medicine is not suitable for some people. Do not take it if you are bleeding from anywhere in the body, such as a stomach ulcer or bleeding within the brain. Before taking it, you should let your doctor know if you have ever had a problem with your blood not clotting properly or if you have recently had a serious injury or surgery. This medicine may need to be stopped temporarily before planned surgery or dental treatment.

Available human data suggest that the drug does not pass into breast milk in clinically significant amounts and is unlikely to harm the infant. | - Driving : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

It is not known whether Acrogrel Tablet alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react. Please consult your doctor. | - Kidney : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

There is limited data available on the use of Acrogrel Tablet in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor. | - Liver : SAFE IF PRESCRIBED

Acrogrel Tablet is safe to use in patients with liver disease. No dose adjustment is recommended.

If you miss a dose of Acrogrel Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
What is Acrogrel Tablet used for?::: Acrogrel Tablet is used to prevent the formation of blood clots, thus reducing the risk of heart attacks or stroke. It facilitates smooth circulation of blood in the body by reducing the ability of the platelets to stick together, which could otherwise lead to the formation of harmful clots in hardened blood vessels.| Is Acrogrel Tablet a blood thinner?::: Yes, Acrogrel Tablet is an antiplatelet medicine, which is also known as a blood thinner. It makes your blood flow more easily through your blood vessels and prevents the formation of harmful blood clots. This lowers your chances of a heart attack or stroke.| When should you take Acrogrel Tablet?::: You should take Acrogrel Tablet exactly as prescribed by the doctor. You can take it with or without food, at any time of the day. However, it is important to take it regularly at the same time each day for best the results. This will also help you to remember to take it daily.| Does Acrogrel Tablet affect blood pressure?::: Yes, Acrogrel Tablet may rarely cause a decrease in blood pressure as a side effect. However, this is very rare and does not affect everyone. Consult your doctor if you feel dizzy, lightheaded, weak or have a blurred vision. These are signs and symptoms of low blood pressure and therefore, you should contact your doctor immediately.| Who should not take Acrogrel Tablet?::: Acrogrel Tablet is not recommended for people who are allergic to it, have severe liver disease, have stomach ulcers, bleeding in the brain, or have a bleeding disorder known as hemophilia (disease in which blood does not clot normally).| Can omeprazole be taken along with Acrogrel Tablet?::: Omeprazole ( a proton pump inhibitor or PPI used to treat and prevent indigestion) may interfere with the working of Acrogrel Tablet and reduce the effect of Acrogrel Tablet. Your doctor may prescribe an alternate PPI like lansoprazole, if you suffer from indigestion or if they judge that it would be beneficial to you. You should let your doctor know about all the medicines that have been prescribed to you before starting Acrogrel Tablet. Always consult your doctor before taking any medicine.| What will happen if I stop taking Acrogrel Tablet?::: If you stop taking Acrogrel Tablet suddenly, your chances of heart attack or stroke may increase. These conditions can be fatal. Do not stop taking it without talking to your doctor, otherwise your condition may worsen. Continue taking Acrogrel Tablet for as long as prescribed by your doctor to get maximum benefit.| How long does it take Acrogrel Tablet to start working? How long do I need to take it?::: Acrogrel Tablet starts working within 2 hours of taking it. Continue taking it as long as your doctor has advised you. You may have to take it for a few weeks or months, or you may have to take it for the rest of your life.| Can I take alcohol with Acrogrel Tablet?::: Yes, you can take alcohol with Acrogrel Tablet. However, excessive intake of alcohol should be avoided as it can irritate the inner lining of the stomach, and this increases the risk of developing a stomach ulcer later.

-Atazanavir (Oral Route): Severe

Do not consume Clopidogrel with Atazanavir. Atazanavir may reduce blood levels of active form of Clopidogrel.

Do not consume Clopidogrel with Darunavir. Darunavir may reduce blood levels of active form of Clopidogrel.

Do not consume Clopidogrel with Fluconazole. Fluconazole may reduce blood levels and efficacy of the active form of Clopidogrel.

If concurrent use is essential, watch out for bleeding and consult your doctor immediately. They may adjust the doses as per the observations. Concurrent use may increase the risk of bleeding.
