Acosita-MP 1000 Tablet SR should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment may be needed. | - Liver : UNSAFE

Acosita-MP 1000 Tablet SR is unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided.

If you miss a dose of Acosita-MP 1000 Tablet SR, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

It combines three components that work together to control sugar levels throughout the day.| Who should not take Acosita-MP 1000 Tablet SR? ::: Individuals should not take Acosita-MP 1000 Tablet SR if they are allergic to metformin, pioglitazone, or sitagliptin. It should also be avoided in individuals who have severe kidney problems, liver disease, heart failure, current or past bladder cancer, or diabetic ketoacidosis (dangerous build?up of acids in blood).| Can Acosita-MP 1000 Tablet SR cause pancreatitis (inflamed pancreas)?::: Yes, pancreatitis has been reported with sitagliptin present in Acosita-MP 1000 Tablet SR. Seek immediate medical attention for severe, persistent belly pain that may reach the back, with or without nausea or vomiting.| Is Acosita-MP 1000 Tablet SR safe if I have heart problems? ::: Acosita-MP 1000 Tablet SR should not be used if you have current or past heart failure. If you recently had a heart attack or have severe circulation or breathing problems, tell your doctor before use.| Can Acosita-MP 1000 Tablet SR affect my kidneys or require stopping before scans? ::: Kidney function will be checked regularly during Acosita-MP 1000 Tablet SR treatment. Stop the product before an iodine contrast scan (X?ray dye), and restart only when your doctor says it is safe, to lower the risk of lactic acidosis.| Can Acosita-MP 1000 Tablet SR cause low blood sugar (hypoglycemia)? ::: Acosita-MP 1000 Tablet SR alone cannot cause low blood sugar, but low sugar can happen if it is taken with insulin or sulfonylureas. Your doctor may lower those doses, and you should watch for shaking, sweating, a fast heartbeat, hunger, or confusion.| When should I stop or pause Acosita-MP 1000 Tablet SR?::: Stop Acosita-MP 1000 Tablet SR, and get medical help for signs of lactic acidosis, or a severe allergic reaction (rash, hives, blistering/peeling, swelling of face/lips/tongue, trouble breathing). Your doctor may advise you to pause before major surgery, and during severe dehydration, and follow your doctor?s plan to restart safely.| Can Acosita-MP 1000 Tablet SR treat type-1 diabetes? ::: No. Acosita-MP 1000 Tablet SR cannot treat type-1 diabetes. It is used only for type 2 diabetes.

Acosita-MP 1000 Tablet SR is a combination of three antidiabetic medications. Metformin decreases the amount of glucose you absorb from your food and the glucose made by the liver. It also increases the body's response to insulin, a natural substance that controls the amount of glucose in the blood (blood sugar levels). Pioglitazone works by enhancing cellular responsiveness to insulin and increasing insulin-dependent glucose utilization and disposal. Sitagliptin helps to control blood sugar levels by increasing substances (incretins) in the body that make the pancreas release more insulin. It also signals the liver to stop producing sugar (glucose) when there is too much sugar in the blood.
