Acekof 13.5mg Syrup is an antitussive medicine. It is used for the treatment of dry cough. It helps by reducing the activity of the cough center in the brain. This medicine is taken by mouth with or without food. You should take it in a proper dose and duration as advised by the doctor. Remember, dosage is decided on the basis of the type of medicine (syrup or lozenge), age and the present medical condition of the person. It is important to finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. In case you have missed a dose, take it as soon as you remember it. It is beneficial to have plenty of fluids while taking this medication.?Acekof 13.5mg Syrup may cause dizziness as a side effect, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus. Rashes and diarrhea may also occur in many individuals.It is important to note that you should never support self medication or recommend your medicine to another person. - Alcohol : UNSAFE

Do not drink alcohol while you are taking this medicine. Acekof 13.5mg Syrup may cause excessive drowsiness when taken with alcohol. | - Pregnancy : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

The safety of Acekof 13.5mg Syrup during pregnancy has not been established. There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women, and animal data on reproductive toxicity are insufficient. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing. | - Breast feeding : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

Acekof 13.5mg Syrup may be unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby. It should be used only if the expected benefit outweighs the potential risk. Please consult your doctor. | - Driving : UNSAFE

Acekof 13.5mg Syrup may decrease alertness, affect your vision, or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur. | - Kidney : CAUTION

Acekof 13.5mg Syrup should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment may be needed. | - Liver : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR

There is limited data available on the use of Acekof 13.5mg Syrup in patients with liver disease.

If you miss a dose of Acekof 13.5mg Syrup, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Is dextromethorphan a steroid/an opiate/an antihistamine/ a narcotic/an NSAID/a controlled substance/contain alcohol/have codeine?::: Dextromethorphan is a decongestant and not a steroid, antihistamine, opiate, NSAID or narcotic, but can have addictive effects if taken at large doses than recommended. It does not contain codeine or alcohol. It is not a controlled substance| Does dextromethorphan work/ how much dextromethorphan can I take for cough?::: Dextromethorphan works for most of the patient. It should be taken in amounts exactly as directed on the label, or as prescribed by your doctor. Cough medicine is usually taken only for a short time until your symptoms clear up. Do not use the medication in larger amounts, or use it for longer than recommended| Is dextromethorphan safe/ does dextromethorphan makes you sleepy/make you tired/ raise blood sugar?::: Dextromethorphan causes mild sedation effect thus can make you feel sleepy. It does not raise blood sugar or make you tired. Dextromethorphan is generally safe if taken at recommended doses and duration| Can i take dextromethorphan with high blood pressure/ safe for high blood pressure/ raise blood pressure/ thin blood?::: Though it isn't reported, but it should be used carefully in people with high blood pressure, as dextromethorphan may cause high blood pressure and the effectiveness of dextromethorphan is decreased by high blood pressure medications| Can I take dextromethorphan with benzonatate/acetaminophen/codeine/ibuprofen/ diphenhydramine/pseudoephedrine/guaifenesin/Tamiflu/Benadryl?::: Drug interaction with any of the above mentioned drugs is not documented, but it can occur. Always follow your doctor's advice before taking any medicine with dextromethorphan.

-Moclobemide (Oral Route): Life-threatening

Do not consume Moclobemide with Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide. Moclobemide may decrease the metabolism of Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide.

| -Tranylcypromine (Oral Route): Life-threatening

Do not consume Tranylcypromine with Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide. If Tranylcypromine is essential, ensure a gap of at least 2 weeks after discontinuing Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide. Please consult your doctor.

| -Ziprasidone (Oral Route): Severe

Watch out for symptoms such as tremors, fever, diarrhea or agitation and consult your doctor if you experience them. Your doctor may discontinue the medicines accordingly. Concurrent use may cause serotonin syndrome.

| -Desvenlafaxine (Oral Route): Severe

Watch out for symptoms such as tremors, fever, dizziness, lightheadedness, drowsiness, nervousness, restlessness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or agitation and consult your doctor if you experience them. Your doctor may discontinue the medicines accordingly. Desvenlafaxine may raise blood levels of Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide.

| -Vortioxetine (Oral Route): Severe

Watch out for symptoms such as tremors, fever, diarrhea or agitation and consult your doctor if you experience them. Your doctor may discontinue the medicines accordingly. Concurrent use may cause serotonin syndrome.
