Abel-CT 40mg/12.5mg Tablet is a medicine used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and lower the risk of heart attack, stroke, and kidney damage. It works by lowering blood pressure and improving blood flow, which reduces strain on the heart and helps protect vital organs such as the heart, brain, and kidneys. Abel-CT 40mg/12.5mg Tablet can be taken with or without food, but take it at the same time to get the most benefit. It should be taken with your doctor's advice. The dose and how often you take it depend on what you are taking it for. Never skip any doses and finish a full course of treatment even if you feel better. This medication mustn't be stopped suddenly without talking to the doctor, as it may worsen your symptoms.It may cause side effects like tiredness, decreased potassium level in blood, decreased blood pressure, increased creatinine level in blood, and increased uric acid level in blood. It is advised to drink plenty of fluids while taking this medicine. It may cause dizziness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. Regular monitoring of blood pressure is required while taking this medicine.Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, if you have ever had any problems with your blood circulation, or have liver or kidney problems. You do not usually feel any direct benefit from taking this medicine, but it works in the long term to keep you well. You should take it regularly as prescribed for this medicine to be most effective, even if you feel better.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Abel-CT 40mg/12.5mg Tablet may be taken with or without food.

Abel-CT 40mg/12.5mg Tablet is highly unsafe during pregnancy. It can cause serious harm to the unborn baby, including birth defects and pregnancy loss. Do not use this medicine if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. | - Breast feeding : UNSAFE

Abel-CT 40mg/12.5mg Tablet is unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Data suggests that the drug may cause toxicity to the baby. | - Driving : CAUTION

Abel-CT 40mg/12.5mg Tablet may cause dizziness or weakness due to changes in blood pressure. Do not drive if these symptoms occur. | - Kidney : CAUTION

Abel-CT 40mg/12.5mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment may be needed.Use of Abel-CT 40mg/12.5mg Tablet is not recommended in these patients. | - Liver : UNSAFE

Abel-CT 40mg/12.5mg Tablet is unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided.Use of Abel-CT 40mg/12.5mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.

If you miss a dose of Abel-CT 40mg/12.5mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
What is Abel-CT 40mg/12.5mg Tablet used for?::: Abel-CT 40mg/12.5mg Tablet is used to lower high blood pressure (hypertension). Abel-CT 40mg/12.5mg Tablet combines azilsartan medoxomil, which relaxes blood vessels, and chlorthalidone, which helps the body remove excess salt and water. Together, they help reduce the risk of strokes and heart attacks.| Who should not take Abel-CT 40mg/12.5mg Tablet?::: Abel-CT 40mg/12.5mg Tablet should not be used by people if they cannot pass urine (a condition called anuria). Abel-CT 40mg/12.5mg Tablet also should not be taken with aliskiren-containing medicines if you have diabetes. Abel-CT 40mg/12.5mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Azilsartan medoxomil and Chlorthalidone which lower blood pressure effectively. Azilsartan medoxomil is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). It works by blocking the hormone angiotensin, thereby relaxing blood vessels. This allows the blood to flow more smoothly and the heart to pump more efficiently. Chlorthalidone is a diuretic that removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body. Over time, it also relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow.
